Seminars

In the idea stage of the Philips Innovation Award, we organise 10 seminars in almost all student cities in The Netherlands. A seminar is organized with an ambassador in your city. These seminars are important to show you all the benefits you can have from participating in the Philips Innovation Award (winning the prize worth €50.000, inspiring events, coaching and a big network of other innovators).
The seminar in your city will take approximately 2 hours. We will kick off with a short introduction of the Philips Innovation Award and an inspiring speaker (One of our partners or a winner of a previous edition of the Philips Innovation Award e.g.). Thereafter we will give you the opportunity to write an innovative idea on a beer felt (max. 100 words). If you have the guts you can pitch your idea in a minute! And, by the way: free drinks after the seminar ;)

BearingPoint is the official partner of the Philips Innovation Award (PHIA). This is a yearly event where students and starters have a platform to launch their ideas. Therefore, Erwin Tibben and I gave a seminar at the Technical University of Eindhoven to emphasize innovation. The purpose of this seminar is to stimulate students to participate the PHIA.
The seminar started with a teaser: ‘Who of you will become the next Elon Musk?’ Some students are very confident and truly believe that their innovation will make it. During this interactive and fun seminar, fascinating ideas were pitched and introduced by students. I realized that the students are really thinking about how their innovation can change the world for the better. Some of them are not fully aware of the importance and potential of their ideas. Therefore, this seminar was introduced to motivate students to participate the PHIA and to nurture the innovation. These ideas are reviewed by BearingPoint and other companies in order to help and guide them to a successful launch of new ideas.

At the end of the seminar, I was really impressed by the students and their ideas. It was fascinating to discuss these ideas, which emphasize the importance of innovation. This reminds me of how fast the world is changing in a rapid pace. I could only conclude that the seminar is a success and filled me with energy. I am really looking forward to work together with them again in order to enhance their innovations on the Innovation Market at the 23th of March.
